Get to know Pedrogão

Pedrógão, also known as Pedrógão do Alentejo, is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Vidigueira.

A quiet place with a family atmosphere and plenty of facilities. Just 2 minutes from Casa das Lages you will find several cafés, grocery stores and even a traditional bakery.

Pedrógão is located 20 minutes from Vidigueira, the Alqueva river beach and Moura and 30 minutes from Beja.

What to visit

Alqueva Rural Eco Camping

This park is located in Pedrogão, a 10-minute walk from the house, and has a natural pool, a farm with animals and a prehistoric museum.

Moura

A 15-minute drive from Pedrogão, it is the closest town where you will find hypermarkets, pharmacies, a vet and other essential services. It offers excellent restaurants and the castle with a unique view.

Monsaraz

It is a medieval village in Alentejo. With mysterious streets in the castle and views of the Alqueva Dam. Visiting Monzaraz is like playing castles and it even has its own river beach.

Alqueva River Beach

The Alqueva river beach in Alqueva is the perfect place to spend the day. It is a 20-minute drive away and has all the necessary facilities, including sunshades, a restaurant, pedal boat rental and a lifeguard.

Alqueva Lake Observatory

Even though it’s only a 1-hour drive away, the Alqueva Observatory is definitely an experience not to be missed. An opportunity to look at the sky in a different way.
